About Us
The name Chantecler comes from the English "Canterbury Tales" and was one of the main characters in the book. It is also the national chicken of Canada. Here on our farm we raise 4 breeds of heritage birds. Farm fresh eggs are always available and make up many of our sumptuous breakfasts including Dave's famous smoked salmon eggs benedict!
The Area
Situated in Lighthouse Country, Chantecler is located approx. 10 minutes north of Qualicum Beach, British Columbia on Vancouver Island along highway 19A. The beautiful and quaint town of Qualicum offers a number of antique and curio shops to browse, the farmers market from May to October as well as theatre and dining options and of course numerous golf courses.
Another 15 minutes south is Parksville with its vast beaches and world famous sandcastle competition. Just west, is the town of Coombs, home of the Coombs Country Market and the goats on the roof.
For those looking for some adventure Chantecler is also 12 km from The Horne Lake Caves. From here, there is also easy access to the Tofino/Long Beach area as well as Cathedral Grove.
